Costituzionalismo

Constitutionalism is a movement of thought oriented right from its origins to concrete political goals, such as the limitation of the public powers and the affirmation of spheres of autonomy guaranteed by law. Historically, it leads to movements of resistence, but also of participation: defends spaces of freedom, but also contributes to the construction of political units. A task invokes the other, in a circular and substantially indissoluble way. Maurizio Fioravanti examines the unraveling of constitutionalism in the modern era and analyzes the great problems of constitutional democracies nowadays, from the decline of the traditional principle of sovereignty to the renewed historical meanings of the basic acts of legislating, governing and judging.
